Information Technology Specialist – OAR Foundation (Part Time Volunteer)
Job Description:
The Information Technology (IT) Specialist at OAR Foundation will manage and support all technology systems and infrastructure across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth operations of IT services, supporting staff and volunteers with technical needs, and helping maintain secure systems to protect sensitive data. The IT Specialist will work closely with leadership to implement technology solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of OAR’s humanitarian initiatives, programs, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain OAR’s network infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and effective.

Provide technical support to staff, volunteers, and partners, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

Support the implementation and maintenance of cloud-based systems, databases, and communication platforms.

Oversee data security, including the protection of sensitive information and compliance with privacy regulations.

Develop and manage internal and external websites and communication tools for OAR’s outreach and operations.

Implement and maintain software systems that streamline program and organizational operations, including CRM platforms and project management tools.

Assist in IT budgeting and purchasing, ensuring cost-effective solutions and up-to-date technology.

Collaborate with program teams to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance the organization’s humanitarian efforts.

Conduct regular system backups, software updates, and security audits.

Provide training to staff and volunteers on technology best practices and security protocols.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).

Proven experience as an IT specialist, network administrator, or in a similar technical role (at least 3 years).

Strong knowledge of network systems, cloud services, security protocols, and data management.

Experience with database management, content management systems, and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.

Familiarity with IT security and privacy best practices, including knowledge of relevant regulations.

Ability to train and support non-technical staff in using technology effectively.

Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and partners.
